Gina Lowell, MD, MPH
General Academic Pediatrician | Rush University Children’s Hospital
Gina Lowell MD, MPH is a general academic pediatrician at Rush University Children’s Hospital in Chicago with specialty interests in childhood injury prevention, child abuse and neglect, and early relational health. She is the current Principal Investigator for the CDC-funded SUID Case Registry and Prevention for Cook County, IL. As Director of Community Health for Pediatrics she focuses on developing and promoting maternal-child health initiatives that support Chicago’s communities through addressing the intersectional impact of generational trauma and the social and structural determinants of health on maternal-child health equity. She completed her MD at Rush Medical College, Pediatric Residency at the University of Chicago, and General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship and MPH at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Kyran Quinlan, MD, MPH
General Academic Pediatrician, Educator, Researcher, and Advocate
Kyran Quinlan MD, MPH is an academic general pediatrician, educator, researcher and advocate in Chicago. He received his MD from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine and his MPH in Epidemiology/Biostatistics from University of Illinois at Chicago. He did his residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. Dr. Quinlan completed the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Dr. Quinlan’s advocacy work has been driven by experiences in his clinical work on the south and west sides of Chicago including over 2 decades in Federally Qualified Health Centers serving low-resource communities.
He serves on Child Death Review for Cook County, Illinois and for the past 5 years was the Principal Investigator for the CDC-funded Sudden Unexpected Infant Death-Case Registry there. He and his team established the Community Partnership Approaches to Safe Sleep (CPASS)-Chicago which, with community partners, has targeted innovative prevention activities in areas of greatest risk of SUID.

Consumer Federation of AmericaCourtney Griffin is the Director of Consumer Product Safety for the Consumer Federation of America (CFA). CFA is a is an association of non-profit consumer organizations that was established in 1968 to advance the consumer interest through research, advocacy, and education. Courtney advocates for consumer product safety in Congress and at regulatory agencies, communicates policy positions to the public and press, provides educational tools for consumers, and works with other advocates and key stakeholders on consumer product safety. Prior to joining the CFA, Courtney worked in private practice at a plaintiffs-only law firm with a national practice.
Ed Guidry
Director, Bureau of Child Fatality Review and Prevention, New York StateEd Guidry, Director of the Bureau of Child Fatality Review and Prevention at the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, has dedicated the last 22 years to improving child safety and welfare. With a background in Child Protective Services, Mr. Guidry has worked extensively in child protective intake, investigation, policy, and prevention. In his current role, he oversees critical efforts to review child deaths and is committed to creating meaningful, long-term programs aimed at preventing child fatalities across the state. His work emphasizes balancing the review process with proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of children in New York.
