PJs for Safe Sleep

April 16th | National PJ Day for Safe Sleep Awareness
Missed PJ Day? You Can Still Participate!

Did you miss National Wear Your PJs to Work Day on April 16 but still want to host a PJ Day for your workplace or school? You absolutely can. PJ Day can be held anytime, and the instructions below will guide you through hosting your own solo PJ Day while continuing to raise awareness about infant safe sleep.

If you are hosting your own PJ Day, email us at info@cribsforkids.org, and we will be happy to work with you to provide customized materials from the PJ Day toolkit to support your event.

About

PJs for Safe Sleep is a first annual national day of awareness held on April 16, aligning with National Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day, to spark conversations about infant safe sleep.

Just like pajamas are associated with rest and bedtime routines, this day is a reminder that how and where a baby sleeps matters. By wearing pajamas to work, school, or at home, participants help shine a light on evidence-based safe sleep practices and the importance of creating safe sleep environments for every baby.

As the first year of this awareness effort, PJs for Safe Sleep marks the beginning of an annual tradition—one that uses a simple, visible action to promote lifesaving education and encourage communities across the country to join the conversation about safe sleep.

  • Wear your pajamas to work, school, or at home on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
  • Encourage your coworkers, staff, or classmates to participate together.
  • Take photos or videos of your team wearing their PJs.
  • Share why infant safe sleep matters to your organization or community.
  • Post your photos or videos on social media and tag @CribsForKids and use #PJsForSafeSleep
Remember: Your posts help amplify safe sleep messaging and show how communities across the country are coming together to support babies and families.
Want to maximize your impact?

Reaching families with safe sleep education to prevent SIDS and suffocation is truly what matters most to us at Cribs for Kids.

However, if you’d like to take your impact one step further, you can optionally turn PJ Day into a fundraiser by inviting participants to make a donation to wear their PJs to work or school. Every gift, no matter the size, helps support our mission to help every baby sleep safely.
