Surrounded by Barbara Clemons’ family, Judy Bannon, CEO of Cribs for Kids, accepted Korbex International’s $5,000 annual gift to launch the Barbara Clemons Emergency Relief Fund at the 2025 Women of Achievement Awards.

On April 17, 2020, Cribs for Kids lost a cherished member of our team to COVID-19. Barbara Clemons, our Director of Product Development for 14 years, was a dedicated advocate for infant safe sleep. This heartbreaking loss has strengthened our resolve to continue the work she was so passionate about.

Barb was instrumental in responding to emergency relief efforts, ensuring that infants in areas impacted by disasters had a safe place to sleep. She worked tirelessly to coordinate shipments of cribs and other safe sleep products to emergency responders across the country. Her dedication led Cribs for Kids to provide aid after devastating flooding in Louisiana in 2016, Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas in 2017, and other crises where families were in desperate need.

To honor Barb’s legacy, we have established the Barbara Clemons Emergency Relief Fund to provide safe sleep resources to families affected by natural disasters and other emergencies. Through this fund, Cribs for Kids continues to coordinate with emergency responders to supply cribs and safe sleep products where they are needed most.

Kicking off this initiative, Korbex International, the trusted manufacturer of Cribs for Kids’ safe sleep products, has committed to an annual $5,000 donation to support the fund. This contribution will help provide cribs to emergency shelters and relief agencies such as FEMA and the Red Cross, ensuring that families in need have access to life-saving safe sleep environments.
