Cribs for Kids® Conference Registration
Thank you for your interest in attending Third National Cribs for Kids® Infant Safe Sleep Conference. This conference addresses issues surrounding the importance of expanding infant safe sleep awareness; commitment to infant safe sleep education; and creating a unified infant safe sleep message. Those who may be interested in attending include Cribs for Kids® partners; social service agencies; pediatricians; nurses from the newborn and Neonatal Intensive Care Units of hospitals; social workers; childcare workers; Department of Public Health Maternal Child Health Personnel; Department of Health & Human Services personnel; members of Child Death Review Teams; medical examiners; coroners; police, paramedics and any other professionals who are interested in saving babies’ lives through a safe sleep initiative.
TRACKS AND CONCURRENT WORKSHOPS:
Participants should register to attend either Track I or Track II
<TRACK I>: Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Initiative – Provides all of the essentials needed to run a successful safe sleep program. Includes three WORKSHOPS: Cribs for Kids® Program; Hospital and Statewide Initiatives; Community Outreach. Track 1 will feature national experts who will discuss: · What the data tells us · The role of the manufacturing community and safety organization in promoting safe sleep · How to start a Cribs for Kids® Program in your community and initiatives that have worked for other groups to help sustain the program · How to develop a Hospital Safe Sleep Initiative and develop hospital policy · Examples of public health models that reach high risk communities through agency and faith-based collaborations · And much more
<TRACK II>: Sudden Unexplained Infant Death Investigation (SUIDI) Training - This comprehensive training will meet the objectives of the CDC’s Sudden Unexplained Infant Death (SUID) Initiative which are: (1) Standardize and improve data collected at death scene (2) Promote consistent and accurate diagnosis of cause of death Part I -Child Abuse/Neglect Injury and Death Investigations using Scene Re-enactment & Scene Re-Creation Part II -SUIDI Sudden Unexplained Infant Death Investigation Training **Track 2 will have a limited number of participants. Only those who pre-register will be admitted to these breakout sessions.

*Duquesne University is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the PA State Nurses Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Track I: Cribs for Kids® provides 15 hours of CE. You must attend the entire conference to receive CE.
**Carlow University Department of Social Work is a “pre-approved provider” of Continuing Education Credits for social workers (Section 47.36) by the PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.
Track I: Cribs for Kids® provides 15 hours of CE. You must attend the entire conference to receive CE.
*** This conference has been approved for Continuing Education by the Pennsylvania State Coroners’ Education Board under the provisions of Act 22 of 1988. Track II: SUIDI Training provides 8 hours of CE. You must attend the entire conference to receive CE.
**** This conference has been approved for Continuing Education by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services. Track II: SUIDI Training provides 8 hours of CE (2 Medical/Trauma and 6 Other). You must attend the entire conference to receive CE.
